Chocolates as planets! neat-o
“For 2011, Japan’s high-end Rihga Royal Hotels updated their box of gourmet chocolates from chocolatier L’éclat. The solar system of 8 delicious planets now includes (sorry, Pluto): Mercury as coconut mango, Venus as lemon cream, Earth as cocoa, Mars as orange praline, Jupiter as vanilla, Saturn as rum raisin, Uranus as milk chocolate and Neptune as cappuccino.”
Capilano Suspension Bridge
Got here 30 minutes before closing and the light was disappearing fast. Been here many times before, but this is the best photo I’ve taken of the bridge. I like how the trees seem to swallow the bridge and the drama the light creates of the scene.

On St. Simons there are these faces carved into the huge live oaks that are all over the island. The top one is quite old. It’s now on a large stump outside an Irish-ish bar in the village. It’s pretty/scary in an “Angels have the phonebox” sort of way.
The other two are in an abandoned development that was slated to go up before the real estate market tanked. I can only assume it was to be a LOTR-via-affluent-white-people thing. A wonder it didn’t make it.
This past weekend, on an impromptu trip to Connecticut, I took a student led tour of Yale University. We saw loads of impressive stuff but ended our journey at Beinecke Rare Book and Manuscript Library.
Now, I was not embarrassed to ask our poor guide about Rory Gilmore’s Yale experience or how the cafeteria food related to that of the esteemed Chili’s Bar & Grill. The real embarrassment came when I yelled to my friend who was leaving, “Hold up! I have to take pictures of this for my blooooooooooooooooog!”
